Research & Development

Our philosophy is simplification: we start from a real workspace problem and build a solution that solves it in a measurable way. We don't chase standard formulas or innovation for its own sake. We develop systems, details and methods that make projects clearer to design, easier to coordinate and more effective to live in. This approach comes from how Grandi works: integrating design, engineering and delivery in a single coherent process.

01 · Simplification

For us, innovating means simplifying

Research doesn't exist to add complexity, but to remove it. Every solution starts from a concrete question: where is friction created? Where does a traditional system slow the project down, complicate coordination or reduce the quality of the space? This is where our approach begins: identify the problem, break it down, test it and turn it into a more linear, more integrated and more reliable answer. It's a mindset that holds together precision, control and a broader vision. In our work, design isn't decoration: it's a problem-solving tool applied to workspaces.

02 · Approach

From problem to solution, even off the conventional path

We don't start from a closed catalogue or a ready-made answer. We start from the context, the technical constraints, the client's goals and the real behaviour of people within the space. This means working unconventionally when needed: developing an ad hoc detail, rethinking a systems integration, designing a system that reduces interference and variables before they reach the construction site. For us, innovation isn't about chasing a new effect: it's about finding a better solution — clearer and more replicable.

03 · Verification

In-house testing, continuous trials

Experimentation doesn't stop at the concept stage. Every new solution has to be verified, corrected and validated before becoming part of a project. That's why we work with external production and specialised supply chains that let us test components, assemblies, integrations and the real behaviour of systems.

03 · Partnerships

Collaborations that accelerate innovation

Research doesn't move forward in isolation. It moves forward when different skill sets converge on the same goal. That's why Grandi builds partnerships with companies, supply chains and technical partners that strengthen the development process. One of the most significant collaborations is with Hatek, part of an ecosystem of established partners that contribute to technical reliability and the realisation of solutions.

04 · BIM & 3D

BIM modelling and 3D design as research tools

Within Design, BIM and 3D are not accessory tools. They're where research takes shape and is verified. Modelling means putting every variable on the table before delivery: geometries, integrations, interferences, components, assembly sequences, relationships between finishes and systems. What emerges late in a traditional process is verified early in ours. This approach reduces guesswork, makes systems more controllable and turns design into a decision-making platform.

05 · Application

Research applied to workspaces

We do research to improve environmental comfort, systems integration, execution quality and project predictability. Every development exists to be useful: less interference, more control, more continuity between idea, detail and delivery.
